10,000 RPM Changes Everything - Black File 003
10,000 RPM is not an engine specification.
The moment you commit to a naturally aspirated, 354 cubic inch ITB V10 every single component touching it has to be engineered around the violence of that decision. The gearbox, the clutch pack, flywheel inertia, input shaft harmonics, gear ratios, oil scavenging, intake resonance, and chassis vibration. That reaches right down to how the driver’s hands and feet have to interact with the controls.
That Sound! That V10 sound… Ahh yes!
Then backing that engine with a true H-pattern manual transaxle changes the stakes again.
And at 10,000 RPM things like torsional whip, rotating mass, oil cavitation, and thermal soak become violent realities. Special coatings and metal treatments are required on certain surfaces. We are building the car around what happens when that V10 screams through the top of the tachometer and your hand reaches for the next gear. When you drive hard, you don’t read gauges. Your brain registers a needle’s sweep, its position, and the speed of its climb in milliseconds. That tactile feedback is why the tachometer matters so much. Not an animated graphic on a flat LCD screen, but a real physical needle sweeping behind optical glass, catching real light while ten cylinders fire in timed musical succession behind your spine. In Vesuvius, you catch the needle out of the corner of your eye and realize you still have room to run! 9,000, 9,500 then up to 10,000 RPM!
That is the exact moment this car was built around.
The engine is screaming behind your head. The needle is kissing 10,000. Your hand is on the shifter, maybe even a little sweaty & for that fraction of a second, the next thing that happens isn’t decided by a transmission computer, an automated clutch pack, or an algorithm. It is entirely on you!
We will engineer the chassis, suspension, braking, and aerodynamics to an uncompromising standard, but the core relationship remains elemental.
The human driver, machine, road.
10,000 RPM changes everything, because an engine like this leaves no place to hide!
Bring your driving skills.
That is Vesuvius.
A Perfect 10. A Visceral Savage.
